Christmas Show a Rousing Success



Thank you to all the parents who came out for our Christmas show last night, and all the children who performed.



Don't forget our Heritage Breakfast tomorrow.  Students are to bring food to share with other students.  Please bring a food item to share that represents your family's heritage and traditions.

Holiday Performance Tomorrow




There will be a holiday performance presented by our 4th and 5th grades and the Rio Vista band tomorrow, Tuesday, December 17 at 5:30.  Please arrive at 5:15 in the cafeteria for the evening performance.  We will perform various Christmas songs.

Heritage Breakfast Next Thursday





Dear Parents,

Next week, Thursday December 19th, all  Rio Vista fourth and fifth grade students are invited to have a special Heritage Breakfast.  We are asking students to bring a food item that represents their family's heritage to share with the rest of the class.  This may be some kind of dish, dessert, fruit, drink, or special food item such as eggs, muffins, rice, tamales, casseroles, etc.  Students should bring their item to school on Thursday morning.

Missions



Fourth graders in California learn about missions.  There were twenty-one California missions built between 1769 and 1823.  They were extremely important in the history and development of the state.  Many of the major cities of California grew up around missions.
