I'm Back!

After two days out of the classroom, I am back.  I got some excellent training yesterday in methods for writing instruction, but it is hard to be out of the classroom.

We are continuing are study of California history.  This week we are  learning about some of the women who were important in the early history of California: Bernarda Ruiz, Helen Hunt Jackson, Mary Tape, and Bridget "Biddy" Mason.  Biddy Mason was born into slavery in 1818, but when her master took her to California in 1851, she was able to successfully petition the government for her freedom.  She became a prominent and well loved citizen of Los Angeles.

Today's homework:
     1.  Math Miss W:  p. 504.
                   Mr. Spaulding:  p. 577-578.
     2.  Gold Rush
     3.  Read for half an hour.
     4.  Get parent initials.
